Rest assured, the latest Kodi release is still free of charge, with the upgrade process being fairly straight forward. There’s really no excuse not to upgrade at this point, older versions are basically no longer functional when it comes to online streaming. It’s been almost a year since Kodi 17.0 Krypton was released, and almost two years since Kodi 16.0 Jarvis was released. Older version of Kodi are incapable of accessing the latest generation HTTPS streams and may be open to serious security threats. We’re sorry to be the ones to have to tell you this, but if you’re still running Kodi 16.2 Jarvis or below – your Kodi is for lack of a better word: obsolete.
